THIS WAR OF MINE

“IN WAR, NOT EVERYONE IS A SOLDIER”

This war of mine is a survival strategy game which focuses on the lives of the civilians rather than the soldiers caught in a war torn city.

GAME PLAY:

The player controls and lead a group of civilian survivors in a make-do shelter in a war – torn city. The player is task to survive the war with the equipment and resource that the player can gather with the characters that the player can control. Most of the available characters have no military background or have any survival experience, and will require the player to intervene in order to stay alive. The player is task to maintain the health, hunger, and mood levels of the survivors until the declaration of a ceasefire.

During the day, hostile snipers will prevent the player to venture outside, thereby offers the player to have time to craft tools from the gathered equipment and resources, the player can also trade, upgrade their shelter, cook food, and heal the wounded survivors. And at night, the player can have the opportunity to venture out and scavenge nearby areas for resources and equipment. The player can also build a radio inside the shelter, which would provide the player with information such as weather warnings, the city’s economy and the ongoing war effort, which the player can use to plan appropriate upgrade to the shelter and scavenging missions.

When the player ventures out to look for resources, the player can encounter other NPC survivors, who they can assist with gifts, food, or medicine. But also given the choice to either rob or kill them.

OVERALL:

This war of mine is a powerful game experience that everyone should try, instead of being a soldier fighting a war to win it; you’re a survivor with a simple and hard objective which is just to survive. It’s also amazing how they lifted their mechanics from zombie survival games from base building, scavenging, and managing a team, all they had to do was remove the zombies. As I have said it’s a powerful game experience for it really makes a compelling experience in which you player might think of playing this game for fun but then you hit those moments where its gut wrenching or focus on beating the game and make this horrible decisions along the way and the reality hits you and you feel terrible and think of people who are actually living through this horrors and make those choices.

This war of mine is a powerful and compelling experience that everyone should give a try, I know you won’t regret it.

OCEANHORN: MONSTER OF UNCHARTED SEAS REVIEW

OCEANHORN: MONSTER OF UNCHARTED SEAS

The Lengend of Oceanhorn

(video courtesy of Cornfox & Bros. (youtube))

STORY:

You start out waking up and finding a letter from your dad, that disappeared. And the only lead is a single old notebook that he left behind and a mysterious necklace.

PRESENTATION:

Playing this game will give the player a familiar experience, for well Oceanhorn: Monster of uncharted sea borrows its fundamental mechanics from the classic Nintendo series that we all know and love. Its similar structure gives the player many of the same items to collect and use, from pieces of hearts to various keys to unlock doors.

Using a boat, much like Wind Waker, lets the player traverse the world of Oceanhorn  which is expanded on five chapters and in several islands that the player can travel and discover.

The puzzles of Oceanhorn are mostly moving blocks and flipping switches that doesn't make you, the player think creatively but later on there are some puzzles that lets you make use of your items in clever ways to solve them.

OVERALL:

Aside from its stunning visuals, the mechanics shows the lack of originality and imagination but if you a fan of that franchise this is a pretty awesome game and I would really recommend to try it out. It is available in Steam and for the iOS.

HELLO! HELLO!

Hi, I am Makku.

Well, I guess what I'm going to do here is talk about video games... give a little review about them, and recommend if its worth playing.

And from time to time, I would either post on stuff that I'm hook, live TV shows, anime, movies, or just things that are going viral. So I hope you enjoy your stay here.
